Premier Power and Puma Team Up In Solar Installation

Premier Power Renewable Energy, an El Dorado Hills solar installer, and sportswear manufacturer Puma North America will team up to install 1.9 megawatts of solar photovoltaic capacity, the two companies announced Monday. A pair of Los Angeles-area solar installations in Conrad and Torrance, California, will generate the power from roof-mounted solar panels, located at Puma's warehouse and distribution facilities.
"We're very pleased to build this project for Puma in southern California," said Dean R. Marks, Premier Power's CEO. "Puma has been a long-standing leader in many environmental and social initiatives, and we hope their example will be followed by other companies seeking sustainability and protection of the environment."
Puma has taken other steps into the field of solar power - for one, the German apparel company recently introduced a solar-charged phone called the Puma Phone, featuring all the typical features of a high-end sports phone, as well as a rear-facing solar panel and a separate solar charging system.
Unfortunately, it's only available in Germany - the world's largest solar market - Africa and the Middle East, but at least Californian shoppers at Puma retail outlets can breathe easy, knowing that solar installations helped store and transport their shoes under the California sun.
