Alteris Renewables and SunRun Eliminate Up-Front Costs for Massachusetts Homeowners
Thursday, July 22nd 2010 12:00 PM
By GetSolar Staff.
SunRun, the largest solar home financing company in the nation, is partnering with Massachusetts solar installer Alteris Renewables to make it easier than ever to transition to sustainable, renewable energy.

While installing solar panels normally involves a substantial initial commitment, financing and leasing agreements can help reduce or even eliminate those costs. Consumers have the advantage of getting their power savings immediately, alongside clean, inexpensive electricity. On the other side, financing companies get a steady revenue stream.

Alteris and SunRun are committing to eliminate upfront costs, meaning that customers get savings in their first month, and they will offer controlled electricity rates for the next 20 years for qualifying customers.

SunRun provided testimony from an Arlington, Massachusetts customer David Schreiber: "I'm thrilled to be able to generate electricity for my home that is not going to cost the planet anything going forward," said Schreiber. "I'll be able to shrink my footprint even further with renewable energy for my home while saving money."

SunRun was launched in 2009 and has expanded to provide solar financing agreements for hundreds of Massachusetts homes. Alteris is one of the fastest-growing energy companies in the country, with a 30-year history and a great deal of experience providing solar electric, solar thermal and wind solutions to its clients.
