Who We Are

Matt Jennison, Founder & CEO

Matt founded GetSolar in 2007 to fulfill a long-held goal to help solve our global energy problems by enabling the spread of solar power.  His vision for GetSolar was to provide the trusted place where people considering solar would always find reliable, objective information and the chance to compare proposals from multiple trusted solar installers.  Previously, Matt worked for Southwest Airlines where he was a captain and senior contract negotiator.  He negotiated with Southwest’s CEO, CFO, and senior management on multi-billion dollar pilot labor contracts where Matt successfully balanced high productivity, operational excellence, and a unique corporate culture and work ethic.  Matt has an MBA from MIT/Sloan and a BA in Political Science with a double language minor from Skidmore College.  He also completed numerous technical solar PV courses at the Solar Living Institute (SLI).


Adam Sewall, Head of Operations & Business Development

Adam has been with GetSolar since its launch in 2007 and is responsible for the daily operations of the company. He works with affiliates and other partners to help qualified installers, both big and small, reach more homeowners and businesses looking to make the transition to solar PV. Adam also provides initial consultation for commercial clients interested solar power, and has joined a number of site visits for larger commercial solar projects here in California. He writes regularly for the site and blog. Beyond his solar-related coursework at Solar Energy International, Adam has a masters degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a BA from Middlebury College.


Miriam Maguran, Head of Customer Service

Miriam joined the GetSolar team in 2010 to help manage customer service for the growing number of homeowners who contact us with an interest in residential solar power. Having worked for a number of years in a customer care role -- first at Continental Airlines and then at Louis Vuitton -- Miriam provides exceptional service and sound advice to homeowners from around the country.


John Adractas, Board Advisor

John is the COO and co-founder of ExLibrix, an education software startup. Most recently, John was COO at AcademixDirect, an education performance marketing company, where he led creation of a quality scoring system and doubling of lead supply. Previously, John led Google’s Earth, Maps, and SketchUp teams within Consumer Operations managing over 100MM consumer and 1K enterprise users. John also helped found an enterprise software start-up, Zeborg, was a venture investor with Voyager Capital, a strategy consultant with BCG and Mitchell Madison, and a professional pianist. John has an MBA from Harvard and a BA in Math and Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.


James D. Mills, Board Advisor

Jim specializes in analytics, financial modeling and business process innovation. He brings more than 20 years of experience developing technology, mostly in the telecommunications and data networking industries. Previously, Jim led global innovation for a Fortune 500 telecom equipment manufacturer, was on the faculty at the University of Notre Dame, and was a Research Affiliate and Visiting Scientist in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at MIT. Jim holds 10 patents and has published more than 30 articles.  Jim has a PhD in electrical engineering from Notre Dame and an MBA from MIT/Sloan.
