Is Hollywood embracing solar power? Judging from the recent actions of several large production companies, it seems so.
With California solar installations popping up across the state from Sacramento to Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood joined the solar fray when Sony Pictures Entertainment installed a 32-kilowatt (kW) system atop the Jimmy Stewart Building at the Company’s Culver City, California lot.
Not to be outdone, Twentieth Century Fox last week announced that it has hired Solar Power Inc. and Pacific Edison to install a 158-kW photovoltaic (PV) solar power system atop its Building 99 roof in Century City, California, seven miles outside of Hollywood.
The project is one of several recent California solar installation projects that Solar Power Inc. has undertaken. Last month, the company installed a 492-kW PV system system on several government-owned buildings for Ventura County, and signed an agreement to install a 230-kW PV system at a low-income housing development in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

What else can you say? California rocks when it comes to solar power!
