Nice sum up of the rather puzzling crossroads at which we find ourselves, Adam. I'm so interested to see which way we go...I have sympathy for the people whose livelihoods and quality of life (and as far as that goes, I, and all of us Americans, are of this latter group to some extent) depend upon the current fossil fuel juggernaut. But since by definition these resources are finite, I hope we can figure out a way to put new structures in place now, and ease the transition as much as possible. Whether the EPA ends up as the regulatory body for any hard-and-fast GHG capping legislation or not, this effort is going to have to reach across more sectors than just environmental control.
