DRI Energy, an-Irvine, California-based solar installer, has completed the installation of a 1-megawatt (MW), 3,582-panel photovoltaic (PV) solar installation at the Mercer Foods facility in Modesto, California. The installation wrapped up yesterday, just in time for Mercer Foods to cash in on a rebate from the Modesto Irrigation District (MID).
The installation will account for 15 percent of the facility’s annual energy use. It features solar panels made by SunTech and two inverters made by Satcon.
In order to take advantage of the MID solar rebate at the project’s reserved rebate level, developers had to meet the deadline. Mike Zweifel, photovoltaic program coordinator at MID, who credited DRI for making the installation a reality. “They [DRI Energy] stepped up and make it happen.”
