Nevada-based Matinee Energy, Inc. has reached a three-way agreement with two Korean firms, Hyundai Heavy Industries and LG Electronics, Inc. through whic the trio will install 240 megawatts (MW) worth of solar plants in the country’s southwest region.

The New Mexico Property Tax Incentive gives solar customers a loophole out of a state law that says property value cannot increase more than 3 percent in one year or 6.1 percent in two years, unless physical improvements are made to the property. Under such a circumstance, the property value may increase at a rate that exceeds these limits.
