It turns out that the film’s base camp – with the exception of two trailers – were running on portable, solar-powered generators throughout the making of the film (no, you’re not dreaming). The panels were provided by Pure Power Distribution (PPD), based near Hollywood in Santa Monica, CA. According to PPD, the generators pump out 600 amps/72,000 watts of “pure sine wave power with no noise and no emissions.”
