Vision and Values
California Solar Engineering is enabling a renewable energy future for Southern California citizens and businesses using solar energy systems and energy conservation practices.
President
Dr. Peter Parrish founded California Solar Engineering in 2002 in order to provide solar energy systems and renewable energy consulting to homes and business in the Los Angeles area. He earned BS and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Colorado, Boulder and the University of California, Berkeley, respectively, and has held several faculty appointments including University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Northeastern University and Drexel University. He holds a State of California Solar Contractors license (Lic. #954779, C-46). He is a NABCEP™ Board-certified PV installerand is a member of several solar energy associations.
Mission Statement
We integrate and install the highest quality solar-electric systems to meet our customers' needs at reasonable prices. We back our systems with ten-year warranties on parts and workmanship and support all manufacturer warranties. We provide accurate performance estimates for our products and calculate conservative financial measures such as payback period and Internal Rate of Return.

Solar (PV) Panel System Design
California Solar Engineering offers grid-tied and off-grid systems, custom tailored to your needs. We will assess your energy consumption, review your appliance and lighting efficiency, design a high-performance system and integrate it into your home in the most aesthetic manner possible. What could be easier!
Energy Audits and Energy Conservation Consulting
We assist clients in developing conservation strategies regarding air conditioning, pools/spas, electrical appliances, and lighting. We can also provide insight into the merits of electrical billing strategies such as Time of Use. By using compact and inexpensive electrical load monitors, we can measure the electricity consumption of most appliances in your home. We can review your usage of lighting and recommend replacement with CFLs and other high efficiency lighting systems (such as light emitting diodes).
Affiliations & Accreditations
Licensed C-46 Solar Contractor (License # 854779)
The C-46 distinction refers to a contractor being certified specifically in solar technology. A solar contractor installs, modifies, maintains, and repairs active solar energy systems. Electrical (C-10) contractors are not tested in PV and therefore may have incomplete knowledge regarding solar electric systems. Keep your property safe by hiring a solar contractor when you are installing solar.
North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) – California Solar Engineering has been designing and installing photovoltaic systems since 2002.
CSE provides expert engineering for each solar installation.
