About Us
Clean Energy Design, L.L.C., based in Osterville, Massachusetts, was founded in 1996 to meet the growing need for quality renewable energy services. Clean Energy Design has been actively involved with renewable energy and energy efficiency for over 10 years. Our firm handles every aspect of the design, construction, installation and maintenance of residential and commercial solar and wind energy projects.
Our firm is committed to providing a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to the design and implementation of renewable energy systems. Our extensive experience with a wide range of technologies, and our dedication to finding and utilizing only the best available equipment, enables us to offer a well balanced approach to both our residential and commercial clients’ energy needs. We have been researching the latest technologies for many years and utilize some of the most technologically advanced products available.
In the past Clean Energy Design has focused on the design and installation of dozens of photovoltaic and solar thermal systems as part of the Million Solar Roofs Initiative and has partnered with local organizations and state Small Renewables Initiatives. Clean Energy Design is well versed with state renewable energy programs and has submitted and completed dozens of applications for institutional, commercial and residential applications. Our firm has installed more than 100 kilowatts of photovoltaic systems throughout Southeastern New England
Recently we have been involved with residential and on – site commercial wind energy projects in the region. In June 2005 the first inverter based direct grid-tied wind turbine on Cape Cod was installed by our company as part of a wind installer’s workshop at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High school in Harwich, MA. We have contributed to a number of feasibility studies and conducted wind resource data logging and load analysis at various sites. Owner Thomas Wineman has assisted in developing policy and model zoning to lower barriers and facilitate the implementation of wind power.
Clean Energy Design has been providing comprehensive educational outreach with respect to the benefits of renewable energy technologies in cooperation with the Cape Cod Community College and non profit organizations such as Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Woods Hole Research Center and Cape and Islands Self Reliance. We have provided continuing education training workshops and seminars at the college and regional technical schools which are funded by an environmental technology grant from the National Science Foundation. Our focus is to develop renewable energy and to provide workforce training for renewable technologies.
Clean Energy Design advocates supporting the local economy. We utilize locally based subcontractors and vendors and believe in supporting local businesses.
