Welcome! MercurySolar.biz is a website for a grass roots effort to make renewable energy affordable to everyone! Our company was formed to serve all homeowners and businesses in an effort to divert resources away from our dependence on oil in the state of Hawaii.
We now have the ability to convert your dependence from the electric company to solar powered equipment. Whether it is photovoltaics, a solar hot water system, a pool heating system, or a solar powered attic fan you can get your electric bill down to a minimum. Mercury solar was established in 1979 and has many milestones to be proud of. when the state of Hawaii started their solar roofs program in the 1990' s Mercury was the first of 27 Contractors to install 1,000 complete solar hot water systems. they passed inspection on the first time the inspector came to approve the completetion of the project. They have over 6,000 systems on the island of Oahu in operation.
Mercury Has special financing and programs that no other company can offer, most systems are installed without the owner having to put any up front investment.

What about HECO?
- You will not need to cancel your HECO service. HECO will always be there for backup purposes.
What if I sell my house and I have an energy contract?
- Just use our transfer agreement and the new owner will continue where you left off. There is no charge for this.
What if the system breaks while I am on an energy contract?
- You will not be responsible for any of the equipment as long as you are under warranty. No matter how long you have the service it will be our equipment to maintain.
What about maintenance with an energy contract?
- Maintenance on the system is done once per year if you choose to have it done. You will not be required to do any maintenance as long as you have our service.
When do I start paying on an energy contract?
- Once the system is operational you will make your first payment
What methods can I pay with for an energy contract?
- You can pay by credit card or debit from your checking.
Can I get a discount on an energy contract?
- Yes. If you prepay the first ten years you can get a 20% discount.
Are there any guarantees with an energy contract?
- Yes. If the system is not functional for a length of time, you do not have to pay for that time.
- If the system does not provide the amount of energy that we say it will provide then we either fix the system or adjust your payment.
How does solar save me money?
- Your hot water tank is one of the biggest consumers of electricity in your home or business. The water in your tank is pumped to the panel on the roof during the day time to be heated by the sun. This saves you money because the electric element in the tank (like a burner on a stove) does not have to turn on to heat the water.
- In contrast, photovoltaic panels produce electricity and that energy is sent straight to your meter. Your meter will either then slow down or even turn backwards.
