New England Solar Hot Water is an employee-owned firm specializing in solar thermal design and installations. We are based in Duxbury, Ma. and our group consists of a small team of engineers and technicians with expert knowledge in solar thermal domestic hot water (DHW), solar space heating, and solar pool heating. Since incorporating in 2007, NESHW has completed over 70 solar thermal installations ranging in complexity from small domestic systems to large single and multifamily systems with hundreds of gallons of capacity and hundreds of square feet of collector area.

NESHW has also served in a consulting capacity for several additional large scale multifamily and municipal solar hot water installations. In this role, NESHW has designed large systems where a specified hot water demand must be met and special site related conditions such as wind and roof loading, site shading, and the nature of the existing heating plant must be considered.

NESHW distinguishes itself from others in the solar hot water industry by specializing in complex systems and by offering professionally engineered solutions.

We use tools such as computerized shade analysis, clean energy project analysis software, and AutoCad to provide system designs that integrate seamlessly with existing DHW or space heating systems as well as provide well defined outputs and payback periods. Such systems often consist of multiple heating loads that must be satisfied from a single solar thermal collector array. Typically, a large residence may require hot water for domestic hot water, air handlers for space heating, and seasonal loads such as pool heating and snow melt. A control system is then designed that prioritizes demands from the various loads and provides differential control of the solar or heat transfer loop, all with data logging and internet connectivity to monitor and control the system remotely.
