Larry Perea began Solar Smart Living, LLC in July of 2007 after discovering that the regions solar resource was outstanding and the political climate was favoring renewable sources of energy. He also believes in responsible, sustainable energy choices and has since invested his time and money in training and research for himself and a small group of engineers to build engineering competency in solar technology. The Company's intellectual capital is best measured by the core competencies possessed by the decision makers at Solar Smart Living, LLC.

Prior to launching Solar Smart Living, Larry held various engineering positions within General Motors and Delphi Corporation where he was employed for 23 years. In his last assignment he was the Delphi Steering Engineering Site Manager at the Delphi Mexico Technical Center located in Juarez, Mexico.

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Larry now lives with his wife and three children in La Union, New Mexico. Upon graduating from high school Lorenzo served four years in the US Air Force, received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UTEP and a Masters degree in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University in Flint Michigan. He is also a US Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional and a RESNET certified home energy rater.

All of the managers hold university degrees in engineering, business administration, and/or international management. There are two engineers that are NABCEP Certified PV Installers and an additional three engineers that are US Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professionals. The knowledge and skills in engineering and business and the combined work experience of this organization totals more than 100 years.
