The Florida Solar Energy Industries Association has taken a stance that may seem baffling at best, paradoxical at worst to the average observer: coming out in support of offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. The state's solar association ostensibly exists to promote the adoption of solar power within Florida, thus ensuring the livelihood of its members. So why the about-face to supporting fossil fuels? The fact is, solar rebates and other incentives require money. FlaSEIA wants to see a percentage of revenue from offshore drilling fund solar incentive programs within the state.
